SSC GD Exam Pattern
SSC GD Exam Pattern will give candidates a better understanding of how the exam will be like, which is as follows.
- The candidate can attempt any one section in Hindi or English as per his/her ability.
- There is negative marking of 0.50 in the exam.
- The exam will be a Computer Based Test i.e. Online
- Each question will be of 2 marks.
- In all 80 questions will be asked.
- You will be provided with 1 hour's time for this.
- The exam will be conducted in both Hindi and English languages.
- Candidates who qualify this stage will will be shortlisted for the next stage which will be Physical Test.

SSC GD Constable PET Details
Candidates who secure more than the cut off marks in SSC GD online exam will be eligible to appear in Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for which the standards have been set by SSC which are as follows –

Apart from this, the height of the candidates will also be measured during PET, in which case the candidate should meet the height standard prescribed by SSC. Also pregnancy at the time of PET will be treated as a disqualification and pregnant women candidates will be rejected at this stage.
Ex-Servicemen to be shortlisted in Computer Based Examination will have to appear in PET/PST stage for recording measurement of Height, Chest and Weight only. PET will not be conducted for these Ex-servicemen candidates. But they have to pass Medical Examination (DME).
Final Selection
The final selection will be based on the performance of the candidate in all the three stages (Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / Physical Standard Test (PST) and Detailed Examination (DME)) of the SSC GD Constable exam.
Therefore, one cannot get selected for the post of GD Constable in BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, NIA and SSF or GD Rifleman in Assam Rifles, a candidate who is not physically and medically fit .
It is, therefore, advisable for the candidates to not only study hard for the exam, but also keep themselves physically and mentally fit through physical exercises to clear the physical and medical tests.

From what topics questions are asked in CBT of SSC GD Exam?In SSC GD CBT, questions are asked from the subjects like General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics & Language (English/Hindi).
SSC GD exam is of total 160 marks. The questions in this are of multiple choice type.
How are marks awarded in SSC GD CBE?
In SSC GD CBE, 2 marks are awarded for each correct answer. There is a negative marking of 0.50 in the exam.
